બળદની તે કે મ થાય ગાય

The verses

1. બળદની તે કે મ થાય ગાય મૂરખ મિથ્યા કરે ઉપાય;

   Meaning: How can an ox ever become a cow?A fool's endeavors are futile, I avow.

2. સૌનાં નેત્રો ફૂ ટિ ગયાં ગુરુ આચાર્યજ કાણા થયા;

   Meaning: All eyes were blinded now, alas,Our Guru Acharya lost an eye.

3. શાસ્ત્ર તણી છે એકજ આંખ્ય આ અનુભવની ઉઘડી નહિ ઝાંખ્ય.

   Meaning: The scriptures possess but one eye,This vision of experience has not yet opened.

4. મુંડ મુંડાવી હરિને કાજ લોક પૂજે ને કહે મહારાજ;

   Meaning: Having shaved their heads for Hari's cause,People worship and call them 'Maharaj'.
