তুমি কি কেবলই ছবি
"Tumi Ki Keboli Chhobi" explores the speaker's profound longing for a beloved who seems as distant and ethereal as a painted image or a far-off nebula. Despite the beloved being the center of their dreams and waking thoughts, and the ultimate goal of their aspirations, they remain elusive. The poem is a heartfelt plea for the beloved to reveal themselves, come closer, and dissolve the barrier of illusion.

তুমি কি কেবলই ছবি, শুধু পটে লেখা?
ওই-যে সুদূর নীহারিকা, যারা করে আলোর ইশারা—
Are you merely a picture, only painted on a canvas? That distant nebula, which makes a gesture of light.

তুমি কি তাদের মতো দূরে থাকো একা?
আমার স্বপন তুমি, জাগরণেও তুমি,
Do you also stay far away alone, like them? You are my dream, and you are present even in my wakefulness.

আমার সকল সাধনার তুমি চরম পাওয়া।
তবু কেন, হে প্রিয়, থাকো অধরা—
You are the ultimate attainment of all my endeavors. Yet, why, O beloved, do you remain elusive?

ধরা দাও, কাছে এসো, ভাঙো এই মায়া॥
Surrender yourself, come closer, and break this illusion.
