Baje Korun Sure

বাজে করুণ সুরে আনমনা বাঁশরি,
কাহার লাগি কাঁদে ওই— জানি না তো॥
The absent-minded flute plays a mournful tune. For whom it weeps, I do not know.

মনে হয় চিনি তারে, মনে হয় না চিনি,
মনে পড়ে কোনো কথা, মনে পড়ে না॥
I feel as if I know them, yet I also feel I don't. Some words come to mind, while others don't.

তবু কেন এ সুর এলে বুকে লাগে ব্যথা,
কোন হারানো দিনের কথা জাগে গো॥
Yet why does this tune bring pain to my heart, and what memories of lost days does it awaken?
