Ghazal
Us Ke Kooche Se Jo Uth Ahl-e-wafa Jaate Hain
This ghazal speaks of the group of true devotees leaving a certain place, who are engaged in flirtatious glances and proceeding together. It advises that continuous crying will not extinguish the fire of the heart, as even a few tears will only ignite it further. The poem also touches upon those present in the gathering who share the details of every aspect of life, and the speaker suggests that they are now in a position to reveal their true condition.

From whose lane the loyal hearts depart,
And the lovers’ glances leave the face's art.
From whose dwelling the loyal hearts depart, and from whose gaze the beloved's face is lost.
2
If you keep crying endlessly, the heart's fire will die down; / But just a couple more tears will set it ablaze again.
If you keep crying endlessly, the heart's fire will die down; but just a couple more tears will set it ablaze again.

In the time of joy, those who are with you in the gathering, we are merely those who recount the state of the door and the wall.
In the time of joy, those who are with you in the gathering, we are merely those who recount the state of the door and the wall.

The power of your foot will leave, so what will you do?
Now we will show you the condition of our heart.
is: When the power of your foot leaves, what will you do? Now we will show you the condition of our heart.

I am a patient of separation, and on this ailment,
The ones who ask, consume the separated soul.
I am a patient of separation, and those who ask questions consume the separated soul.
6
From the stranger's sword of tongue, in your gathering, we / Arrive daily and receive a new wound.
From the stranger's sword of tongue, in your gathering, we arrive daily and receive a new wound.
7
If you do not give the address of your sadness, then, my dear, even friends sometimes come to your riverbank.
If you do not give the address of your sadness, then, my dear, even friends sometimes come to your riverbank.

Even 'Mir' Sahib comes to your street at night,
Like someone going to a temple for a sacred offering.
