Nigah-e-naz Le Khabar Varna — Jigar Moradabadi
निगह-ए-नाज़ ले ख़बर वर्ना
दर्द महबूब-ए-इज़्तिराब हुआ
— Jigar Moradabadi
Meaning
O coquettish glance, take care of me, lest this pain becomes the beloved of my restlessness.
Explanation
The poet gives a gentle yet striking warning to the beloved’s captivating glance: pay attention to me now, before it is too late. The heart has stayed restless for so long that it is on the verge of falling in love with its own suffering. If pain itself becomes the lover's true companion, the beloved will lose the unique hold they once had over this tormented heart.
