Ghazal
तुम जानो तुम को ग़ैर से जो रस्म-ओ-राह हो
This ghazal portrays the lover's intense possessiveness and suffering due to the beloved's indifference and connections with others. The poet acknowledges the beloved's freedom but yearns for their attention, even questioning their complicity in the rival's actions and their divine yet cruel nature. A deep jealousy is evident, fearing even a glimpse of the beloved by another.

All the praises we hear of paradise may be true, but may God grant that it be the place of your manifestation.
All the praises we hear about paradise may be true, but I pray that paradise itself becomes the place where you manifest your presence.

'ग़ालिब' भी गर न हो तो कुछ ऐसा ज़रर नहीं
दुनिया हो या रब और मिरा बादशाह हो
Even if 'Ghalib' were not, it would not be such a loss;O Lord, let there be the world, and my king remain.
Even if Ghalib himself were not present, it would not be a significant loss. The poet's true wish is for the world to continue and for his king to always remain.
