रोने से और इश्क़ में बेबाक हो गए

रोने से और इश्क़ में बेबाक हो गए
धोए गए हम इतने कि बस पाक हो गए
Through tears, we grew bolder in the realm of love,So much were we cleansed, until pure we became.
Through crying, we became even more fearless in love. We were washed so thoroughly that we simply became pure.

सर्फ़-ए-बहा-ए-मय हुए आलात-ए-मय-कशी
थे ये ही दो हिसाब सो यूँ पाक हो गए
The instruments of wine-drinking were spent on wine's cost,These were the only two accounts, thus settled, nothing lost.

रुस्वा-ए-दहर गो हुए आवारगी से तुम
बारे तबीअतों के तो चालाक हो गए
Though by your wandering, you've incurred the world's disdain,At least your understanding of human nature you did gain.

पर्दे में गुल के लाख जिगर चाक हो गए
