इश्क़ तासीर से नौमेद नहीं

इश्क़ तासीर से नौमेद नहीं
जाँ-सिपारी शजर-ए-बेद नहीं
Love does not despair of its effect,Sacrifice of life is not like a willow tree.
Love never despairs of its effect. Sacrificing one's life is not like a weak or easily swayed willow tree.

सल्तनत दस्त-ब-दस्त आई है
जाम-ए-मय ख़ातम-ए-जमशेद नहीं
Sovereignty has passed hand to hand; the wine-cup is no Jamshid's ring.

बादा 'ग़ालिब' अरक़-ए-बेद नहीं
