Let a funeral procession be held for this young, unfulfilled desire. One cannot even bear to look at the shattered cup, which could have satisfied it.

This beautiful couplet speaks of the deep despair of unfulfilled longing. The 'young thirst' (jawan pyaas) represents the burning desire of the lover.
