O 'Ghayal', I am blessed by these lyrical poems of mine. I have filled those deserts with my tears, and those very places are now dear to me.

This couplet is a powerful declaration of emotional ownership. The poet, Amrut Ghayal, is essentially saying, 'You may praise my verses, but the true source of this art is my pain.' The 'deserts' (dast) represent the emotional voids and struggles he has faced. He asserts that the tears he cried to fill those voids—the pain itself—is his most cherished possession, more valuable than any praise or recognition.
