हया से सर झुका लेना अदा से मुस्कुरा देना
हसीनों को भी कितना सहल है बिजली गिरा देना
hayā se sar jhukā lenā adā se muskurā denā
hasīnoñ ko bhī kitnā sahl hai bijlī girā denā

ये तर्ज़ एहसान करने का तुम्हीं को ज़ेब देता है
मरज़ में मुब्तला कर के मरीज़ों को दवा देना
ye tarz ehsān karne kā tumhīñ ko zeb detā hai
maraz meñ mubtalā kar ke marīzoñ ko davā denā

बलाएँ लेते हैं उन की हम उन पर जान देते हैं
ये सौदा दीद के क़ाबिल है क्या लेना है क्या देना
balā.eñ lete haiñ un kī ham un par jaan dete haiñ
ye saudā diid ke qābil hai kyā lenā hai kyā denā

ख़ुदा की याद में महवियत-ए-दिल बादशाही है
मगर आसाँ नहीं है सारी दुनिया को भुला देना
ḳhudā kī yaad meñ mahviyat-e-dil bādshāhī hai
magar āsāñ nahīñ hai saarī duniyā ko bhulā denā
