2. મારા પ્રણયનો કિસ્સો નહીં આપને કહું, ડર છે મને કે આપ રહો કોના ધ્યાનમાં.

   معنی: I will not tell you the story of my love,I fear that you might then dwell on another's thoughts.

3. તોફાન ક્યાં જગતના અને ક્યાં અમે ‘મરીઝ’, દરિયાનું જોર ખાલી થયું છે સુકાનમાં.

   معنی: What are the world's tempests, and what are we, 'Mariz'?The ocean's might has been exhausted in the rudder.

4. હો ગુર્જરીની ઓથ કે ઉર્દૂની ઓ ‘મરીઝ', ગઝલો ફક્ત લખાય છે દિલની ઝબાનમાં.

   معنی: Whether under Gujarati's wing or Urdu's, O Mareez,Ghazals are penned solely in the heart's own tongue.
