1. रहा न हल्क़ा-ए-सूफ़ी में सोज़-ए-मुश्ताक़ी फ़साना-हा-ए-करामात रह गए बाक़ी

   अर्थ: In the Sufi gathering, the burning passion remains unfulfilled, only tales of miracles are left behind.

2. न चीनी ओ अरबी वो न रूमी ओ शामी समा सका न दो आलम में मर्द-ए-आफ़ाक़ी

   अर्थ: Neither Chinese nor Arabic, nor Rumi nor Shami, Could conquer the man of the horizons.

3. चमन में तल्ख़-नवाई मिरी गवारा कर कि ज़हर भी कभी करता है कार-ए-तिर्याक़ी

   अर्थ: In the garden, let my bitterness be pleasing to you, For even poison sometimes performs the deed of an antidote.

4. अज़ीज़-तर है मता-ए-अमीर-ओ-सुल्ताँ से वो शेर जिस में हो बिजली का सोज़-ओ-बर्राक़ी

   अर्थ: More cherished is the poetry of the prince and ruler, The verse in which there is the flash and brilliance of lightning.
