અણુશક્તિની બોલબાલાના સોગન,
ગજબની જમાનેય હિંમત કરી છે;
By oaths of atomic power's great sway, This age too has shown tremendous daring;

કરી છે નવી શોધ આફતની જગમાં,
કયામતની પ્હેલાં ક્યામત કરી છે.

જીવન સ્વપ્ન છે એ જ જૂનાં પરંતુ,

શિકલ બદલી ગઈ છે એ ખંડેર કેરી—

અમે સૌ અવસ્થાની ઈજ્જત કરી છે;

જુવાનીના દિવસો એ રંગીન રાતો,
ખુવારી મહીં એ ખુમારીની વાતો;

કંઈ બંડ પાછું ન પોકારી બેસે.

મુબારક તમોને ગુલોની જવાની,
અમોને ન તોલો તણખલાની તોલે!

અમે એ જ બુલબુલ છીએ જેમણે આ

નથી કોઈ પણ મેળના ભાગ્યે રાખ્યા,
રહ્યા છે હવે ભાગ્યમાં માત્ર ફેરા;

અમે એમ ભટકી રહ્યા છીએ જ્યાં-ત્યાં,
વતનમાંથી જાણે કે હિજરત કરી છે.

અવર તો અવર પણ કદરદાન મિત્રોય,
રાખે છે વર્તાવ એવો અમોથી;

પરાયા વતનમાં અમે આવી જાણે,
ફિરંગીની પેઠે વસાહત કરી છે.
