1. કેમ ભૂલી ગયા? દટાયો છું. આ ઈમારતનો હું ય પાયો છું.

   معنی: Why have you forgotten? I lie buried deep.I too am the foundation of this edifice, you keep.

2. વઢ નથી વિપ્ર, આ જનોઈ નો, આમ હું આડેધડ કપાયો છું.

   معنی: It's no quarrel, O Brahmin, concerning this sacred thread,But thus, I've been cut down, indiscriminately, instead.

3. ઊંચકે કોણ પંથ ભૂલ્યાને? આપમેળે જ ઊંચકાયો છું.

   معنی: Who lifts the one who's lost their path?I've lifted myself up, on my own.

4. મીંડું સરવાળે છું છતાં ‘ઘાયલ’, શૂન્ય કરતાં તો હું સવાયો છું.

   معنی: Though in the total I am zero, 'Ghayal', Still, I am one-and-a-quarter more than zero.
