अर्थ: Their gaze remains fixed only upon their own beauty's grace; they never lift their eyes to look upon another's face.
कभी जो होती है तकरार ग़ैर से हम से तो दिल से होते हो दर-पर्दा तुम उसी की तरफ़
अर्थ: Whenever a dispute breaks out between the rival and me, / Behind the veil, deep in your heart, you secretly side with him.
जो घर में पूछे कोई ख़ौफ़ क्या है कह देना चले गए थे टहलते हुए किसी की तरफ़
अर्थ: If anyone at home should ask, what fear is there, just say: we had merely wandered off for a stroll towards someone's way.
हज़ार जल्वा-ए-हुस्न-ए-बुताँ हो ऐ 'अकबर' तुम अपना ध्यान लगाए रहो उसी की तरफ़
अर्थ: Though a thousand charms of earthly beauties tempt you, O Akbar, keep your focus fixed steadfastly upon Him alone.
