1. ख़ुदी वो बहर है जिस का कोई किनारा नहीं तू आबजू इसे समझा अगर तो चारा नहीं

   अर्थ: The self is an ocean that has no shore, If you mistake it for mere water, there is no cure.

2. यहीं बहिश्त भी है हूर ओ जिबरईल भी है तिरी निगह में अभी शोख़ी-ए-नज़ारा नहीं

   अर्थ: Here there is Paradise, and Houris and Gabriel too, Yet in your glance, the show of spectacle is not yet seen.

3. मिरे जुनूँ ने ज़माने को ख़ूब पहचाना वो पैरहन मुझे बख़्शा कि पारा पारा नहीं

   अर्थ: My passion made the world recognize me well, It granted me a garment that was not a fleeting spell.

4. ग़ज़ब है ऐन-ए-करम में बख़ील है फ़ितरत कि लाल-ए-नाब में आतिश तो है शरारा नहीं

   अर्थ: How stingy is the nature, though full of grace and bounty, For in the Beloved's essence, there is fire, not merely a spark.
