1. જાહેરમાં એ દમામ કે પાસ આવવા ન દે, અંદરથી એ સંભાળ કે છેટે જવા ન દે.

   अर्थ: In public, such a grandeur that keeps one from drawing near,From within, such a tenderness that won't let one disappear.

2. એવા કોઈ દિલેરની સંગત દે ઓ ખુદા, સંજોગને જે મારું મુકદ્દર થવા ન દે.

   अर्थ: O God, bestow upon me the company of such a valiant soul,Who lets not mere circumstance become my destiny's goal.

3. આનંદ કેટલો છે બધી જૂની યાદમાં, કિંતુ સમય જો એમાં ખયાલો નવા ન દે.

   अर्थ: How much joy is there in all old memories, Yet, if time gives no new thoughts to these.

4. કેવો ખુદા મળ્યો છે ભલા શું કહું ‘મરીઝ’ પોતે ન દે, બીજાની કને માગવા ન દે.

   अर्थ: What a God I've found, 'Mariz', what more can I say?He gives nothing himself, nor lets me ask from others.
