हुस्न-ए-मह गरचे ब-हंगाम-ए-कमाल अच्छा है

1. हुस्न-ए-मह गरचे ब-हंगाम-ए-कमाल अच्छा है उस से मेरा मह-ए-ख़ुर्शीद-जमाल अच्छा है

   अर्थ: Though the beauty of the moon is good at its perfection, My moon-faced beloved, with sun-like splendor, is better than it.

2. बोसा देते नहीं और दिल पे है हर लहज़ा निगाह जी में कहते हैं कि मुफ़्त आए तो माल अच्छा है

   अर्थ: They don't grant a kiss, yet their gaze is every moment on my heart;In their minds they say, 'If it comes for free, then the goods are good!'

3. ख़िज़्र-सुल्ताँ को रखे ख़ालिक़-ए-अकबर सरसब्ज़ शाह के बाग़ में ये ताज़ा निहाल अच्छा है

   अर्थ: May the Greatest Creator keep Khizr-Sultan ever flourishing and green;This fresh sapling in the King's garden is a cherished scene.

4. हम को मालूम है जन्नत की हक़ीक़त लेकिन दिल के ख़ुश रखने को 'ग़ालिब' ये ख़याल अच्छा है

   अर्थ: We know the reality of paradise, it's true,But for the heart's contentment, Ghalib, this thought will do.
