Ghazal
फ़लक करने के क़ाबिल आसमाँ है
The ghazal uses the metaphor of a sky capable of holding the cosmos (falak) to describe the poet's foolish and youthful spirit. It is a declaration of the poet's inherent self-worth and existence, suggesting that his condition is not a concern for others. The poem reflects a sense of resilient self-identity and pride, even amidst the transient nature of life and sudden changes.

फ़लक करने के क़ाबिल आसमाँ है
कि ये पीराना-सर जाहिल जवाँ है
The sky is worthy of the heavens,
That this young man, aged and ignorant, is here.
that the sky is worthy of the heavens because of this young man who is aged and ignorant.

Even from those caravans, dust arose;
What do they know of our ashes, where they are?
Dust arose even from those caravans; what do they know of our ashes, and where are they?

The soul also departs within the beats of the heart,
From this very place, they declare the soul is flowing.
The soul departs within the beats of the heart, and from this very place, they declare the soul is flowing.

उसी का दम भरा करते रहेंगे
बदन में अपने जब तक नीम-जाँ है
As long as the breath remains in the body,
I will continue to quench the thirst of that very one.
As long as the life remains in the body, I will continue to quench the thirst of that very person.
