Ghazal
चमन में गुल ने जो कल दावा-ए-जमाल किया
The ghazal speaks about a flower (gul) that claimed its beauty (jamal). Because of this beauty, the beloved (yaar) colored it deeply, and the sky (falak) created the poet in its grace. Finally, the poet states that his eyes no longer open from sleep, referencing the beloved's thoughts while asleep.

If the world itself should question us, what will be known?
The tresses (curtain of blackness) belong to her alone, the response-letter of the ink; if the entire world questions us on the Day of Judgment, what will be revealed.
