If only we could find a moment, even a little, to see your gaze,
For this delay, this separation, we need just a little less.
If we are visible for even a single moment here, it is a lot; the time we are granted is very brief, just like the short life of a spark.

This voice does not give us the leisure to feel the chest's pangs,
Meaning, the mourning for the heart's departure is immense here.
I have no respite even for a moment from beating my chest in grief. It means that here, there is a great deal of mourning for the departure of my heart.

What have I gained, except the moisture in the paddy field? / Arise from beneath the sky, for there is plenty of dew here.
What is there to gain in this world except dampness? Rise and leave from beneath this sky, for there is too much dew and sorrow scattered here.

The flaw is in your beauty, O Abroo, to be unlike a mile,
For this bow-bearer has many graces and charms.
It is a flaw in your eyebrows that they lean toward others. This bow was powerful, but it has too many twists and turns here.

We are late on the path of dissolution, waiting for a moment of dawn, oh my dear.
We are travelers on the path to mortality and have stayed here too long already. For us, a brief interval, like the fleeting moment of dawn, is more than enough time in this world.

In this idol-filled dwelling, from whom should one question the meaning? There are many faces like Adam here, but not the real Adam.
In this world of appearances, who can tell me the true meaning? There are many who look like humans, but a real human being is nowhere to be found.

In this world, people no longer seek meeting points,
For in this world, there are so many kinds of scenes.
There are no longer people in this world worth meeting. Although this world is filled with plenty of ordinary and common people, those with true depth and character are gone.

No one emerges from a garden so plain,
There are many more colors and charms here.
No one leaves the garden of the world as simple as they entered. There is much color and many twists and turns here that alter a person's original nature.

In love, there is no argument with the glory of the Christian era;
In you, my heart, there is a form of knowing.
In love, there is no need to discuss the life-giving miracle of Jesus. Your words alone are enough to breathe life into a body and make it tangible in this world.

I grieve for the pain of destroying you now, / You live a happy life; there is too much sorrow here.
Your grief over my destruction is useless. You should live your life happily, as there is already plenty of sorrow in this world.

Do not fall in love with the face of the intoxicated beloved,
For the mirror has been raised, and the ground is too wet here.
Do not attach your heart to the beloved's face which is covered in sweat. Lift up the mirror, for the ground here is very damp.

Perhaps tonight I won't be able to hold on until morning, O Mir,
My condition is already too much of a burden this evening.
Perhaps I will not survive until the morning, Meer; my condition has been extremely distressed and unsettled since this evening.
