1. कोई अनीस कोई आश्ना नहीं रखते किसी की आस बग़ैर अज़ ख़ुदा नहीं रखते

   معنی: No companion do I keep, no familiar friend beside; except in God alone, in no one does my hope abide.

2. मुसाफ़िरान-ए-अदम का पता मिले क्यूँकर वो यूँ गए कि कहीं नक़्श-ए-पा नहीं रखते

   معنی: How could one ever trace those travelers to oblivion? They departed in such a way, leaving no footprints behind.

3. जहाँ की लज़्ज़त ओ ख़्वाहिश से है बशर का ख़मीर वो कौन हैं कि जो हिर्स-ओ-हवा नहीं रखते

   معنی: The mortal clay is kneaded from the world's delight and craving; who is there upon this earth that harbors neither greed nor longing?

4. 'अनीस' बेच के जाँ अपनी हिन्द से निकलो जो तोशा-ए-सफ़र-ए-कर्बला नहीं रखते

   معنی: Sell your very life, O Anis, and depart from Hind, if you lack the provisions for the journey to Karbala.
