1. રે મન! આવી સાંજની વેળા ગોધણ લૈ ગોવાળ અમારા થયા નહીં ઘરભેળા,

   معنی: O mind! The evening time has arrived, Our cowherds with their cattle have not yet gathered home.

2. દી આખો આ એકલવાયું ચિત્ત ચઢે ચકડોળે, મન-મંજરીઓ મ્હોરી રે’તી,

   معنی: All day, this lonely heart swings on a Ferris wheel,The mind's blossoms keep blooming.

3. રસ રજનીના ખોળે; સાંજ-સવારે રોજ ભરાતા ને વિખરાતા મેળા,

   معنی: In the lap of the night's essence;Fairs gather and disperse every evening and morning,

4. સૂર્યમુખીના ફૂલ શું હૈયું કરમાતું જે વ્હાણે, સોળ કળાએ કળીઓ એની ખીલતી ગોરજ ટાણે;

   معنی: Like the sunflower, my heart withers in the morning's light,Its buds bloom with sixteen arts, at the dusk's gentle sight;

5. ઉગમણે એનાં વળામણાં આથમણે એનાં તેડાં, રે મન! આવી સાંજની વેળા.

   معنی: From the east, her farewells, from the west, her summons,O mind! The time of evening has arrived.

6. આતુર નયને દૂર દિશામાં ડમરી ઊડતી ભાળું, આછેરા અંધારની ઓથે આવે મુજ અજવાળું,

   معنی: With eager eyes, I see dust rising in the distant direction,Behind the faint darkness, my light comes.

7. ભરતી ટાણે ઉભરાયા શું સ્નેહ-સરિતના વ્હેળા! રે મન! આવી સાંજની વેળા.

   معنی: At the tide's peak, did the streams of love's river overflow?O mind! Such an evening's hour has come.
