1. ચંપાંબાઈને સાસરે વળાવતાં; માતા કનકાવતી વદે વેણરે; દીલડાહી દીકરી, પરણીને પિયરથી પધારિયાં;

   अर्थ: As Champabai was sent to her in-laws' abode;Mother Kanakavati uttered these words:"My wise-hearted daughter, now having wed,You depart from your cherished parental home."

2. નિરખી નિરખીને હૈડે હર્ખ લાવતી; તેતો ચંદ્રને ચકોરી પ્રમાણરે, દીલડાહી...

   अर्थ: Gazing and gazing, her heart found its delight; Like the chakori to the moon, so is she, O wise soul bright.

3. દીકરી આંગણા માંહી તું ઉભી રહે; નેહે એકવાર નિરખું તારૂં મુખરે, દીલડાહી...

   अर्थ: My daughter, stand here in the courtyard;Let me gaze upon your face once with love, my wise one...

4. એમ કહીને માએ કહ્યું, દલપત કહે; દીકરી પામજો સંપૂરણ સુખરે. દીલડાહી...

   अर्थ: Thus having said, the mother spoke, Dalpat states: 'May my daughter attain complete happiness. O wise-hearted one...'
