ઈશ્કનો બંદો

1. જો ઈશ્ક ના તો શું ખુદા? આલમ કરી તો યે ભલે. જો ઈશ્ક ના તો શું જહાં? એને ખુદા યે શું કરે?

   अर्थ: If Ishq exists not, what then is God? The world, though crafted, what does it avail?If Ishq exists not, what then is the world? What can God Himself do but fail?

2. છું સખ્ત ઝખમી મસ્ત દારૂ પી બન્યો બિમાર છું; પણ ઈશ્કથી બીજો અમોને જીતનાર કોણ છે?

   अर्थ: I am severely wounded, intoxicated by wine, and have become ill;But who else besides love has the power to conquer me?

3. એ તો અમારી માદરે પાયું અમોને જન્મતાં, ને મોતની મીઠી પથારીમાં ભર્યું યે એ જ છે;

   अर्थ: Our mother gave us that when we first took birth,And in death's sweet bed, it's filled with the same on earth.

4. એ ઈશ્કની લાલી મહીં લાખો ખુદા ઘેલા બન્યા; એ લાખમાંના એક પણ જુદા જ કૈં ઘેલા અમે.

   अर्थ: In that crimson glow of love, countless gods went mad; But among those millions, our madness is truly unique.
