1. यह नर्म नर्म हवा झिलमिला रहे हैं चिराग़ तेरे ख़्याल की खुश्बू से बस रहे हैं दिमाग़

   अर्थ: This soft, soft breeze, the lamps are shimmering, My mind is dwelling only on the fragrance of your memory.

2. दिलों को तेरे तबस्सुम की याद यूं आई कि जगमगा उठें जिस तरह मंदिरों में चिराग

   अर्थ: Your smile's memory came to my heart so strongly, As lamps illuminate temples with their glow.

3. तमाम शोला-ए-गुल है तमाम मौज-ए-बहार कि ता-हद-ए-निगाह-ए-शौक़ लहलहाते हैं बाग़

   अर्थ: All are the pyres of roses, all are the waves of spring, That in the limit of a longing gaze, the garden sways.

4. 'नई ज़मीं, नया आस्मां, नई दुनिया' सुना तो है कि मोहब्बत को इन दिनों है फ़राग

   अर्थ: New earth, new sky, a new world; I've heard that love is in season these days.

5. फिराक़ बज़्म-ए-चिरागां है महफ़िल-ए-रिन्दां सजे हैं पिघली हुई आग से छलकते अयाग़

   अर्थ: In the gathering of the 'Chiragan' (lamps), the gathering of the 'Rindas' (ecstatics) is a separation; the legs are adorned, overflowing with melted fire.
