1. બસ દુર્દશાનો એટલો આભાર હોય છે, જેને મળું છું મુજથી સમજદાર હોય છે.

2. હો કોઈ પણ દિશામાં બુલંદી નથી જતી, આકાશ જેમ જેઓ નિરાધાર હોય છે.

   अर्थ: No eminence extends in any direction, For those who, like the sky, are without support.

3. જાણે છે સૌ ગરીબ કે વસ્તુ ઘણી ‘મરીઝ' ઈશ્વરથી પણ વિશેષ નિરાકાર હોય છે.

   अर्थ: The poor, Mariz, well know this truth profound,That many things than God more formless are found.

4. જોયા છે એવાય સંતોને મેં રસ્તા ઉપર ‘મરીઝ’ કદમોમાં જેના સેંકડો ઘરબાર હોય છે.

   अर्थ: O Mareez, I've seen saints upon the road,Whose very steps hold hundreds of abodes.
