1. અખાજ્ઞાની ભયથી કે મ ડરે જેની અનુભવ પાંખ આકાશે ફરે.

   अर्थ: Why should the wise Akha ever fear? Whose wing of experience soars through the sky.

2. ઘેંસ ન થાય ન થાય ઘાણી કહે અખો એ વાતો જાણી.

   अर्थ: No grinding will take place, no oil-press will turn, Akhil says, knowing these matters.

3. આંધળો સસરો ને સણગટ(ઘુંઘટમાં) વહુ એમ કથા સુણવા ચાલ્યું સહુ ;

   अर्थ: A blind father-in-law, a daughter-in-law veiled,Thus to hear the story, everyone trailed.

4. કહ્યું કાંઇને સમજ્યાં કશું આંખ્યનું કાજળ ગાલે ઘશ્યું;

   अर्थ: One thing was said, another understood,The eye's kohl smudged upon the cheek instead.
