What things, what things, you spoiled, spoiled upon us, you were made from us, we were taken away with quiet talk, raised up, they are come, they are come.
What things, what things, you have spoiled upon us; we were made from you. We were taken away with quiet talks, raised up, they have arrived, they have arrived.

From where the veil lifts, my beloved, where the conversation is strained,
When you depart that path, turning your face away from us, we are left.
The Shayar says that from where the veil lifts, where there is hesitation in the conversation, when you pass that path and turn your face away from us, we are left behind.

When, when did you not accept the false words of strangers,
Whenever you did not accept the false words of strangers, or whenever we were burned like this, and whenever you were accused of that.

The morning, that calamity, had risen, yet you did not see it, what a deep regret.
What mischiefs and troubles did the shadows of your eyelids weave together.
The morning witnessed a calamity that arose, which you failed to see; what a profound regret. What mischiefs and troubles did the shadows of your eyelids weave together.

Oh Allah, I am afraid of this sight, but why, O destiny, did you bring us together, only to reunite us in the dust?
Oh Allah, I am afraid of this sight, but why, O destiny, did you bring us together, only to reunite us in the dust? (This suggests a sense of betrayal or tragic irony in life's relationships).

As if my body, consumed by the fire of sorrow, became like water;
Meaning, without the glow of your face, my beauty also has faded away.
As if my body, consumed by the fire of sorrow, became like water; meaning, without the glow of your face, my beauty has also faded away.

There is a limit even to tearing into pieces;
When will the eyes of your cruel oppression bring rest to this struggle?
Hay a limit even to tearing into pieces; when will the eyes of your cruel oppression bring rest to this struggle?

If one could meet Khizr, they would not forget you easily; otherwise, why would they find you again after losing you?
If one could meet Khizr, they would not forget you easily; otherwise, why would they find you again after losing you?

What was there to die for, Mir-ji-sahab, were we even aware?
Though they raised hands from our life, they could not lift our heart.
Oh Mir-ji-sahab, what was there to die for, were we even conscious? Though they lifted our hands (lives), they could not lift our heart.
