Ghazal
गर कुछ हो दर्द आईना यूँ चर्ख़-ए-ज़िश्त में
This ghazal explores the pain and the mirror of love, reflecting the transience of life and the agony of separation. The poet suggests that everything will turn to ashes and dust in the fire of passion, and this restless heart will bring suffering even into heaven. Ultimately, accepting his wanderlust, the poet concludes that he will no longer endure this struggle and will simply sit with his heart.

गर कुछ हो दर्द आईना यूँ चर्ख़-ए-ज़िश्त में
इन सूरतों को सिर्फ़ करे ख़ाक-ओ-ख़िश्त में
If anything painful happens, in the mirror of life's wheel,
These faces will only be reduced to dust and ashes.
If any pain occurs, in the mirror of the wheel of life, these faces will only be reduced to dust and ashes.

Will this burning heart take me to paradise?
With the agony of love, it keeps me in hell day and night; will this burning heart take me to paradise?

Why am I so innocent, like a fluttering bird, because my entire existence is a wandering journey.

How long shall I persist in futile rounds of the Kaaba's shrine?I'll take my heart and make a home within the temple's confine.
How long should I remain a poor/unsuccessful pilgrim performing the circumambulation (Tawaaf) of the Holy Kaaba, and keep my heart seated in discomfort?

You always criticize the wanderers, O beloved,
Do not come, O Sheikh, anywhere in this world of hell and heaven.

नामे को चाक कर के करे नामा-बर को क़त्ल
क्या ये लिखा था 'मीर' मरी सर-नविश्त में
To write the name, and kill the name-bearer,
Was this what you wrote, 'Meer,' in my fate's scripture?
