Ghazal
This ghazal speaks of a time when the 'band-e-Kaaba' (the bond of the Kaaba) will end. The poet expresses that when this happens, they will articulate feelings of love and separation. They talk about repaying every promise and debt made in life, acknowledging their heartache and dedicating themselves to destiny. The verses convey a mix of spiritual longing, devotion, and resigned acceptance.

When the closed-off heart is opened up by love, what will the playful-hearted do when they meet?
When the closed-off heart is opened up by love, what will the playful-hearted do when they meet?

To weep always from your cruelty, this is my fate,
How long will both my heart and mind remain loyal to your gate?
To weep constantly because of your cruelty, this is my fate; how long will both my heart and mind remain loyal?

Oh, the debt of giving a crown to the neck, oh, how precious it is; if we live, we shall repay this debt of yours.
Oh, how precious is the debt of giving a crown to the neck; if we live, we shall repay this debt of yours.

We are dervishes, ultimately, of the farewell glance of two eyes; in the corner, dear one, we will pray for you.

After all, when the days of fasting come, we too
Will go among the children and drink wine.

Seeing us silent, he will say something. Regarding this matter, he will remain quiet.

If the Day of Judgment should come upon your abode,
Every corner of your street shall become a gathering place.
If the Day of Judgment should come upon your abode, every corner of your street shall become a gathering place.

The skirt of the desert, parched by the depth of clouds,
Now, too, we shall go to the jungle to cry.
The desert's edge, dried by the profound depth of the clouds, suggests a profound desolation. It means that we too shall now go to the jungle to cry.

To your street, our aimless wandering has come; now we shall honor our dignity.
Our aimless wandering has reached your street; now we shall honor our own dignity.

Oh Meer, why should a whole story be told in just one night?
We will narrate this tale from you over a lifetime.
