आदमी के रेशे रेशे में समा जाता है इश्क़
शाख़-ए-गुल में जिस तरह बाद-ए-सहर-गाही का नम

अपने राज़िक़ को न पहचाने तो मुहताज-ए-मुलूक
और पहचाने तो हैं तेरे गदा दारा ओ जम
If you do not recognize your master, O Jam, the one who is needy of kings' favor,
But recognize him, then he is your palace's beloved support.
If you fail to recognize your true master, you will remain dependent on the favor of kings; but if you recognize him, he is the beloved support of your palace.

दिल की आज़ादी शहंशाही शिकम सामान-ए-मौत
फ़ैसला तेरा तिरे हाथों में है दिल या शिकम
