Ghazal
Bulleya Ki Jana Main Kaun
This ghazal is a profound self-introduction where the poet transcends all conventional boundaries of identity. The speaker declares that he belongs to no specific religion, culture, or geographical location. It speaks to the universal nature of human existence and the journey towards spiritual realization.

Na main momin vich maseetaan
Na main vich kufar diyan reetaan
Na main paakaan vich paleetaan
Na main moosa na firown
I am not in the ways of the monotheists,
Nor in the ways of the infidels,
Nor in the ways of the pure,
Nor am I Moses, nor am I Pharaoh.
I am not in the ways of the monotheists, nor in the ways of the infidels, nor in the ways of the pure, nor am I Moses, nor am I Pharaoh.

Na main andar ved kitaabaan
Na vich bhangaan na sharaabaan
Na vich rindaan masat kharaabaan
Na vich jaagan na vich saun
Neither within the ved scriptures, nor the books,
Nor in the thoughts, the wine, nor the ruinous deeds.
Neither in the intoxication, nor the broken homes,
Neither in the waking state, nor in the sleep.
Neither in the Vedas or the scriptures, nor in the intoxicating wine or the ruinous deeds; neither in the waking state nor in the sleep.

Na vich shaadi na ghamnaaki
Na main vich paleeti paaki
Na main aabi na main khaki
Na main aatish na main paun
I am not a marriage, nor am I a joy-bringing thing,
I am not a pure, beautiful, lovely thing.
I am neither water nor am I earth,
I am neither fire nor am I wind.
I am not a marriage, nor am I a joy-bringing thing; I am not a pure, beautiful, lovely thing. I am neither water nor am I earth, nor am I fire nor am I wind.

Na main arabi na lahori
Na main hindi shehar nagauri
Na hindu na turak peshawri
Na main rehnda vich nadaun
Neither am I Arabic nor am I Lahori,
Neither am I Hindi nor am I Nagauri.
Neither am I Hindu nor am I Turk of Peshawar,
Neither do I belong to any single place.
I am neither Arabic nor Lahori, nor am I Hindi nor Nagauri. I am neither Hindu nor a Turk of Peshawar; I belong to no single place.

Na main bheth mazhab da paaya
Ne main aadam havva jaaya
Na main apna naam dharaaya
Na vich baitthan na vich bhaun
I neither found the religion, nor did I reach the state of existence; I neither established my own name, nor did I sit in thought or in contemplation.
I neither found the religion, nor did I achieve the state of humanity; I neither established my own name, nor did I sit in thought or in contemplation.

Avval aakhir aap nu jaana
Na koi dooja hor pehchaana
Maethon hor na koi siyaana
Bulla! ooh khadda hai kaun
First, know yourself completely,
No other person can recognize you.
From others, no one is truly wise,
Bulla! Tell me, who stands there?
It means that you must first know yourself, because no other person can recognize you. And no one among others is truly wise; Bulla! tell me, who stands there.
