کلاسیکی شاعری میں 'غم گساری' سے مراد کسی پریشان حال دل کی تسلی کرنا یا اس کے رنج میں شریک ہونا ہے۔ اس شعر میں شاعر شکوہ کناں ہے کہ جب محبوب میں غم کی شدت جھیلنے کا حوصلہ نہ تھا تو اس نے ہمدردی و تسلی کا دم کیوں بھرا۔
