1. दुख में सुमरिन सब करे , सुख मे करे न कोय। जो सुख मे सुमरिन करे , दुख काहे को होय॥

   معنی: When in sorrow, everyone remembers (or praises), but in happiness, no one does. If you remember (or praise) during happiness, why should sorrow come?

2. माला फेरत जुग भया , फिरा न मन का फेर। कर का मन का डार दें , मन का मनका फेर॥

   معنی: Ages passed in spinning prayer beads, yet the heart's inclination hasn't changed. Let us abandon the heart's attachments and change the heart's beads.

3. गुरु गोविन्द दोनों खड़े , काके लागूं पाँय। बलिहारी गुरु आपनो , गोविंद दियो बताय॥

   معنی: Both Guru and Govinda stand before me, whose feet should I touch? I sacrifice myself to the Guru, who showed me the way to Govinda.

4. बलिहारी गुरु आपनो , घड़ी-घड़ी सौ सौ बार। मानुष से देवत किया करत न लागी बार॥

   معنی: To the Guru, who for me is worth more than countless lives, For treating humanity as if it were divine, countless times.

5. कबिरा माला मनहि की , और संसारी भीख। माला फेरे हरि मिले , गले रहट के देख॥

   معنی: O Kabir, why do you string a rosary to your mind, or are you merely a worldly beggar? The Lord is found by spinning a rosary; see the one with the throat-bead (or garland)!
