'इस्तिमाअ' का अर्थ ध्यानपूर्वक सुनना या श्रवण करना है। ग़ालिब के इस शेर में 'ताब-ए-इस्तिमाअ' के रूप में इसका प्रयोग हुआ है, जिसका तात्पर्य आशिक़ की दर्द भरी दास्तान सुनने के धैर्य और सामर्थ्य से है।

व्युत्पत्ति

प्रयोग
