1. पग घूँघरू बाँध मीरा नाची रे।

   अर्थ: With anklets tied, Meera danced with glee.

2. मैं तो मेरे नारायण की आपहि हो गई दासी रे।

   अर्थ: Indeed, I have become, of my own accord, the maid of my Lord Narayan.

3. लोग कहै मीरा भई बावरी न्यात कहै कुलनासी रे॥

   अर्थ: People say Meera has gone mad, her kin declare she's ruined the family name.

4. विष का प्याला राणाजी भेज्या पीवत मीरा हाँसी रे।

   अर्थ: Rana sent a cup of poison, Mira drank it with a smile.

5. 'मीरा' के प्रभु गिरिधर नागर सहज मिले अविनासी रे॥

   अर्थ: Meera's Lord, Giridhar the clever, Is easily found, the Immortal forever.
