1. ન આવ કલ્પના, ન વિચારો ન ખ્વાબમાં, તું પણ હવે ન જોઈએ તારા જવાબમાં.

2. એવો ડરી ડરીને હું જન્નત તરફ ગયો, જાણે કે એની ભૂલ થઈ છે હિસાબમાં.

3. જામી રહ્યો છે એમ અમારા પ્રણયનો રંગ, ધીમી ગતિ જે હોય છે ખીલતા ગુલાબમાં.

   अर्थ: Thus settles the hue of our love,With the slow pace found in a blooming rose.

4. માનવના તે ગુનાની સજા શું હશે ‘મરીઝ’, જેનું નથી બયાન ખુદાની કિતાબમાં.
