अशआर

1. धीरे-धीरे रे मना , धीरे सब कुछ होय। माली सींचे सौ घड़ा , ॠतु आए फल होय॥

   अर्थ: Slowly, O mind, slowly everything will happen. Though the gardener waters a hundred pots, the fruit ripens when the season arrives.

2. कबीरा ते नर अन्ध है , गुरु को कहते और। हरि रूठे गुरु ठौर है , गुरु रुठै नहीं ठौर॥

   अर्थ: The man, Kabiira, is blind, though he calls out to the Guru. The Lord is upset, but the Guru's place is not the cause; the Guru is upset, but it is not the place.

3. पाँच पहर धन्धे गया , तीन पहर गया सोय। एक पहर हरि नाम बिन , मुक्ति कैसे होय॥

   अर्थ: Five watch-periods passed, three watch-periods went by; without the name of Hari for one watch-period, how can liberation be attained?

4. कबीरा सोया क्या करे , उठि न भजे भगवान। जम जब घर ले जायेंगे , पड़ी रहेगी म्यान॥

   अर्थ: What shall Kabir do, if he sleeps, and does not wake to praise God? When Yama's house takes him, the sheath will remain behind.

5. शीलवन्त सबसे बड़ा , सब रतनन की खान। तीन लोक की सम्पदा , रही शील में आन॥

   अर्थ: Shīlavanta is the greatest, a mine of all gems. In Shīl, the wealth of the three worlds resides.
