दुख में सुमरिन सब करे , सुख मे करे न कोय। जो सुख मे सुमरिन करे , दुख काहे को होय॥

1. दुख में सुमरिन सब करे , सुख मे करे न कोय। जो सुख मे सुमरिन करे , दुख काहे को होय॥

   अर्थ: When in sorrow, everyone remembers (or praises); when happy, no one does. If one remembers (or praises) when happy, why should there be sorrow?

2. माला फेरत जुग भया , फिरा न मन का फेर। कर का मन का डार दें , मन का मनका फेर॥

   अर्थ: Though ages pass in stringing beads, the mind's inclination hasn't changed. Let us discard the heart's attachments, and change the beads of the mind.

3. गुरु गोविन्द दोनों खड़े , काके लागूं पाँय। बलिहारी गुरु आपनो , गोविंद दियो बताय॥

   अर्थ: Both Guru and Govinda stand before me, whose feet shall I touch first? I sacrifice myself to the Guru, who showed me the path to Govinda.

4. बलिहारी गुरु आपनो , घड़ी-घड़ी सौ सौ बार। मानुष से देवत किया करत न लागी बार॥

   अर्थ: O my Guru, I sacrifice myself to you, For moments more precious than a hundred times a hundred. For you, you transform mere man into divinity, A feat that cannot be measured by mere counts.

5. कबिरा माला मनहि की , और संसारी भीख। माला फेरे हरि मिले , गले रहट के देख॥

   अर्थ: O Kabir, why the garland for the mind, and charity for the world? Hari (God) is attained by merely spinning the rosary; look at the sight of the throat's ornament.
