ब-रंग-ए-बू-ए-गुल उस बाग़ के हम आश्ना होते
कि हमराह-ए-सबा टुक सैर करते फिर हवा होते
The fragrance of the rose, we were familiar with that garden, / Where we used to wander, strolling with the gentle breeze.
The fragrance of the rose, we were familiar with that garden, / Where we used to wander, strolling with the gentle breeze.

O sky, alas, if you kept us as dust, that in it we might be the dust of the path, or the dust of the slipper's tread.

How are those who desire worship, when for us, the beggar's coffer is enough, because God is sufficient.

Now, the beloved's mood has ascended to heights of delusion; if only our desires had been fulfilled, what would we be?

Oh Meer, how can you know what flaws have occurred? They only know it when they are separated from that path.
