Ghazal
हुई ताख़ीर तो कुछ बाइस-ए-ताख़ीर भी था
This ghazal delicately touches upon the complexities of delay and fate, suggesting that external factors often govern outcomes and that even personal ruin can be intertwined with destiny's design. The poet yearningly reminds a forgotten beloved of their past connection, concluding with a powerful image of a captive lover whose thoughts are still consumed by the beloved's locks, despite the heavy burden of chains.

If there was a delay, there was also a reason for it. You were coming, but someone was holding your reins.
