— Kabir
Meaning
In this body, the feeling of separation resides, and no mantra can take effect. One who is separated from Rama cannot live and goes mad. Let this body be a canvas; I shall write Rama's name upon it. I will write the name of the lotus (or peacock) and recite Rama's glories.
Explanation
The body is filled with the ache of separation, a feeling that no mere spell or ritual can soothe. One who is separated from Rama cannot sustain life; he descends into madness. Instead, this body should be treated as a canvas, upon which we write Rama's name. I will write the name of the lotus (or peacock) and keep reciting Rama's glories.
