न हुई गर मिरे मरने से तसल्ली न सही

न हुई गर मिरे मरने से तसल्ली न सही
इम्तिहाँ और भी बाक़ी हो तो ये भी न सही
If my death brought no solace, then so be it. If more trials remain, then let this not suffice either.
If my death did not bring you satisfaction, then so be it. And if there are still more trials to endure, then let even this ultimate sacrifice not be enough for you.

ख़ार ख़ार-ए-अलम-ए-हसरत-ए-दीदार तो है
शौक़ गुल-चीन-ए-गुलिस्तान-ए-तसल्ली न सही
The prick of pain from longing for a glimpse, it does remain;Though my desire may not pluck solace from comfort's flowery domain.
The sharp pain of yearning for a glimpse of the beloved certainly persists, even if my desire cannot find comfort or pluck flowers from the garden of solace.

मय-परस्ताँ ख़ुम-ए-मय मुँह से लगाए ही बने
एक दिन गर न हुआ बज़्म में साक़ी न सही
The wine-devotees did to the jar of wine apply their mouth, If one day the cupbearer's not in the feast, then let it be so, without a doubt.
The wine-devotees will certainly drink directly from the wine jar. If the cupbearer is absent from the gathering one day, it makes no difference.

नफ़स-ए-क़ैस कि है चश्म-ओ-चराग़-ए-सहरा
गर नहीं शम-ए-सियह-ख़ाना-ए-लैली न सही
The very breath of Qais, the desert's guiding light,
